The graduate Program in Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis is designed for those pursuing a PhD degree or the combined MD-PhD degrees. The Program's Executive Committee evaluates applicants principally on research experience, educational background, Graduate Record Examination scores and letters of recommendation and will make admission recommendations to the Director. A successful applicant typically has a strong science background including coursework in biology, inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology. Deficiencies in course background may be made up during the first year of graduate study upon recommendation of the Executive Committee. We do not admit students for a Masters Degree.Applicants with a Masters Degree in Immunology, Virology, or a closely related discipline or the equivalent may request admission directly into Advanced Standing. This also includes applicants who have or will have successfully completed two or more years of medical school with a standard curriculum.
