Population Biology of Infectious Disease

Within-host dynamics
Carol Worthman, with students and colleagues in her and collaborating research groups, studies contextual effects on biobehavioral development, and their consequences for mental and physical health. We use life history theory to identify and test trade-offs triggered by physical and psychosocial stressors, using immune, endocrine, morphometric, and metabolic biomarkers in acute and longitudinal studies in US and international settings.
