M.D./Ph.D. Students:

Because M.D./Ph.D. students have completed more than 24 hours of basic science course work, they enter the program in advanced standing and thus their first year of courses can be counted towards the 24 hours required. Therefore, to fulfull the Graduate School requirements for a Ph.D. degree, these students must take a miminum of 24 credit hours of coursework and 24 credit hours of dissertation work.

Elective Courses:

The only specific requirements in the program are those listed above. However, each Ph.D. student must meet minimum requirements of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences with regard to total credit hours in course work. For each Ph.D. student an individualized program of advanced courses will be organized in consultation with the student's advisory committee and the Program Director. However, some courses are particularly appropriate for students in the Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis Program. The presently approved elective courses and their credit hours are listed below.
