Emory-Georgia Tech Team Wins NFL Head Health Challenge II for iDETECT Brain Injury Detection
Dr. Michelle C. LaPlaca, faculty member in Neuroscience, discusses iDETECT (integrated DisplayEnhanced TEsting for Cognitive Impairment and mTBI), a system for rapidly and comprehensively evaluating head injuries in athletics and the military. iDETECT was one of seven winners in the Health Health Challenge II, cosponsored by the NFL, GE and Under Armour.
A total of seven winners of the Head Health Challenge II were selected from more than 500 submissions from 19 countries. Each team will receive $500,000, and will also have the opportunity to receive an additional $1 million to advance their work to better protect against brain injury
