Dr. Amy Webb Girard, faculty member in Nutrition and Health Sciences, is mentioned in an Atlanta Journal Constitution special report entitled, Atlanta's Food Deserts. Girard discusses how poor diets and inaccessibility to healthy foods in parts of Georgia are creating a crisis of chronic disease.
“We’re sixth in the country for food insecure households, fifth for food insecurity among children,” says Girard.
