Division Students

The Division has over 400 students in various stages of graduate training.  Information on our students' educational background is listed by the Division as a whole and by Program. Last year our students were primary or co-authors on more than 200 research papers or abstracts.  In addition to providing students with the skills essential for their growth as research scientists, the Division faculty also provide support and guidance in their roles as mentors.  Consequently, our graduate students are very satisfied with their graduate programs.  The National Association of Graduate-Professional Students (NAGPS) conducted a national survey of graduate students to assess their satisfaction with their Programs, and four of the Division Programs were ranked (a minimum of ten responses was required to be ranked).
Biochemistry, Cell and Developmental Biology
Molecular and Systems Pharmacology
Neuroscience
Nutrition and Health Sciences

In addition, the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education ranked America’s leading universities on their success in attracting, enrolling and graduating African Americans, as well as their progress in hiring African American professors.  Emory ranked second among the select universities compared in the long term study.

Student Fellowships and Awards

Most students who are awarded a fellowship receive a monetary supplement to their stipend. Please see the Financial Information section for details.  Our students have been awarded a variety of different fellowships.  The more predominant ones are listed in the Fellowships and Awards section along with a list of student awardees.
