Scientific Hypothesis and Design course

This course provides students with guidance on scientific writing skills and specifically provides extensive feedback on the development of a dissertation research proposal in the style of an NIH grant application. This is done in collaboration with a Ph.D. mentor, current BCDB students, and the course advisors. Most BCDB students use the proposal they have developed in this course as the starting basis for a pre-doctoral fellowship application.

The BCDB faculty developed this course over twenty years ago and has written a paper outlining how other universities can implement such a successful course.
